​​Participants will learn the basics of biomaterials-making by recycling mixed organic waste, making composites, and adding sensorial qualities such as textures, shades, scents, flexibility and finishings.
They will explore the possibilities and limitations of overlooked resources and reflect on their consumption and waste habits. There will be time for inspiring lectures, practical exercises, experiments, sharing research finds and developing their own biomaterial collection and recipes, to make prototypes, integrate these techniques into their practice and stimulate new ideas.

Fast Start is a 6-month intensive program tailored for ambitious space ventures so they can supercharge their commercialisation journey.

Over an intensive two days, Deep Tech Elevate will see you dive into the world of entrepreneurship and commercialisation, including workshops, founder stories, and panel discussions.


Fast Start is an intense coaching program. With a dedicated coach by your side, you will set goals, focus on what is important, and remove roadblocks to move more quickly. You will be supported by a pool of mentors and the wider Cicada community who genuinely want to help you succeed. You will also have a dedicated workspace at the National Space Industry Hub for the duration of the program. 

Who is it for?

Fast Start is for ambitious space ventures who are integrating hardware and software solutions in all areas of space. It is for ventures who are serious about entering the space industry.

What is the Fast Start experience like?

Fast Start is specifically designed to address the needs of each team. It can be in-person or virtual, but either way you can expect:

  2. A dedicated workspace for 6 months at the National Space Industry Hub

  3. Access to state-of-the-art rapid prototyping facilities and shared labs
