  • 1-3 Days

As an introduction to the subject, I offer a brief but impactful group workshop where participants will create biomaterials from their favourite food waste.

They will explore the possibilities of overlooked resources and reflect on their consumption and waste habits, receive an inspiring lecture and cook plastics and textiles, to integrate these techniques into their practice and stimulate new ideas.

  • 1-5 Weeks

Participants will learn the basics of biomaterials-making by recycling mixed organic waste, making composites, and adding sensorial qualities such as textures, shades, scents, flexibility and finishings.

They will explore the possibilities and limitations of overlooked resources and reflect on their consumption and waste habits. There will be time for inspiring lectures, practical exercises, experiments, sharing research finds and developing their own biomaterial collection and recipes, to make prototypes, integrate these techniques into their practice and stimulate new ideas.

  • 3 Hours Max.

Participants will receive an enriching presentation created for their design discipline and specific needs.

I will first briefly share bits of my journey, insights gained from my students and collaborations within my network, showcase the latest cutting-edge concepts and innovations within the industry, as well as the motivations why we do this. Additionally, I could offer a Q&A, guidance on how to start, and online resources to engage students in this rapidly evolving field.
